The general principle of biological exhaust air cleaning is based on the activity of biocultures (microorganisms), which are capable of oxidation of organic and some inorganic gaseous compounds and of converting these into harmless and odorless clean air. The function of a biofilter is based on the interactions between microorganisms, carrier materials and exhaust air, while the microorganisms do the work.

With use of AIR SOLUTION's BioWAb systems, investment as well as operating costs can be reduced while achieving higher effectiveness and complying with official and environmental regulations.

The AIR SOLUTION BioWAb process
For the AIR SOLUTION BioWAb process, a special filling material made of plastics is used. It offers excellent growth properties for microorganisms, is non-decomposable, provides a large internal and external surface and the possibility of a forced feed. Using the AIR SOLUTION moving bed, an increased flow rate at low pressure losses is possible due to the reversed flow direction.

Technical details of the BioWAb method
The entire system is made of stainless steel and therefore resistant to aggressive components in the exhaust air and their effects. All components are in modular design and allow flexible and mobile set-up due to standard screw/plug-in connections.
